RRP presents An Evening of One Acts: May 31-June 2

WILLIAMSVILLE – The Rock River Players presented “Another Evening of One Acts” on Friday May 31 and Saturday June 1 at 7:30pm and on Sunday June 2 at 2:30pm at the Williamsville Hall, 35 Dover Road, Williamsville, VT.

The show’s lineup includes six original works by local playwrights Robert Cullinane, Jessey Ina-Lee, Patrick Keppel, Michael Nethercott, Susan O’Hara, Georgie Runkle, and Kevin Stine.

The Required Man,” written and directed by Michael Nethercott, opens the show in the home of a 1930s suburban housewife, whose world is disrupted when her estranged brother arrives with his conniving cohorts, including a wounded man with an incredible claim.

I Love You, Too,” written by Jessey Ine-Lee, Susan O’Hara, and Georgie Runkle and directed by Sue Kelly, moves to a present-day scene in which an aging widower is discovering the benefits and perplexities that modern technology has to offer.

Triangle,” written and directed by Patrick Keppel, explores the legacy of the 1911 Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire as three seamstresses come to learn about their forewoman’s complicated relationship with the tragedy.

Bacchus” Bar & Grill,” written by Michael Nethercott and directed by Sue Kelly, follows the Roman god of wine during an evening shift at the joint where gods and goddesses come and go when they need a break from ruling the universe.

A Boy’s Will,” written by Kevin Stine and directed by Randy Lichtenwalner, follows eager college students as they arrive in Vermont seeking wisdom from the elusive Robert Frost, who instead offers a game of ball.

Clown,” written by Robert Cullinane and directed by Tracy Berchi, closes the show in the office of a tech company, where two prospective employees with wildly different professional backgrounds arrive to interview for the same position.

The show’s company includes 22 area actors, nine of whom will be making their debut performance with Rock River Players: Tino Benson, Tracy Berchi, Emmadora Boutcher, Peter Broussard, Walter Cramer, Amy Donahue, Richard Epstein, Shafiya Finger, Jess Guerrero, Magdalena Keppel, Alex Lacey, John Moran, Nick Morgan, Aaron Morse, Shey Nessralla, John Ogorzalek, Cris Parker-Jennings, Mickey Parker-Jennings, Dawn Slade, Terry Sylvester, Jan Van Oene, and Rose Watson.
