In classic Mamet fashion, characters speak in speedy fragmented bursts and bulldoze their way through one another in what is ultimately one long, desperate struggle for professional dominance.
Old Shelly “The Machine” Levene is fighting tooth and nail just to stay in the game while the king of commissions, Richard Roma, continues to demolish his competition. And who in this office was desperate enough to break in and steal the good leads?
But is it really about salesmen, or is it about a bankrupt culture that produces and nurtures them?
